Reimagining the Locker Room Celebration

THE SITUATION

For the first time ever, MIchelob ULTRA was the official sponsor of the NBA. Their goal was to use the platform to increase cultural relevance among an audience of beer drinkers they were not currently connecting with.

OUR APPROACH

Tap into the culture of design and collectibles that is at the heart of NBA fandom. We wanted to highlight the joy of the game off the court by creating a celebratory collectible for the NBA Finals. Something that the team that won the championship would want to celebrate with and that NBA fans would want to collect.

To do this we reached out to a legend.  Tinker Hatfield.  The legendary designer behind the most iconic basketball sneaker silhouettes of all time. So many Jordans, the Air Max and now…the ULTRA NBA Finals Bottle.

We collaborated with Tinker to create limited edition NBA and WNBA Finals bottles for the ‘21 & ‘22 seasons.

For the ‘22 season we added to the art and NBA culture conversation by working with Tinker to create limited NFTs that could only be unlocked by winning one of the coveted bottles.

Bottles that would never be for sale.
Only won. Launched with sneaker style drops that put ULTRA at the center of the NBA conversation.
